When Flu Strikes Use Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® Says Sharon Kleyne

Flu Season Wreaks Havoc on Eyes Says Kleyne. Kleyne Teaches Eye Care During Flu.

Do you get an annual flu shot? Have you already done so? Even with more people getting flu shots every year, Sharon Kleyne, host of the nationally syndicated The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water, Global Climate Change and Your Health on VoiceAmerica sponsored by Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, knows that millions of people worldwide will still contract the flu. That is why Kleyne urges everyone to be proactive as flu season intensifies.

Most would say that they’re familiar with flu symptoms such as fever, nausea, body aches, dizziness and exhaustion, but many overlook what the flu can and often does do to the eyes. Flu victims can experience “flu eyes,” the itching, swelling, burning, watering, redness and eye fatigue that often accompanies colds and influenza, especially in winter. Kleyne often teaches that our eyes are a major port of entry for cold and flu viruses and bacteria. It makes sense that maintaining healthy eyes can help avoid escalating illness. Kleyne believes that treating eye symptoms during colds or flu is as important as treating fever or nausea.

Kleyne, founder of Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®, also teaches that the flu seriously dehydrates its victims, requiring constant replenishing of the eye’s and the body’s lost water vapor. “From the moment we leave our mother’s water-womb and are born,” Kleyne says, “we begin a process of evaporation that continues until death. In order to sustain excellent health,” she adds, “one must supplement eyes and skin on a daily basis to replenish the evaporating water vapor. Of course, the purer the water, the better it will be for the person supplementing skin and eyes with it.” Kleyne recommends her own creation for the eyes, Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®.

Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® is 100 percent pure, Trade Secret tissue culture grade water that is applied to the eye as a patented micron-size mist from a personal, portable hand-held humidifier. Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® supplements and replenishes the eye’s tear film, which is naturally 99 percent water.

Kleyne teaches that the water inside the body, eyes and skin is the first line of defense against disease invasion. That’s why doctors tell sick people to “drink plenty of water.” When a person becomes ill, the body, eyes and skin lose water and become dehydrated. Dehydration symptoms frequently begin at common disease entry points such as eyes and mouth. When the flu does strike, Kleyne notes, it is especially important to keep the eyes’ protective tear film well hydrated and functioning properly.

Kleyne also suggests avoiding rubbing your eyes or putting your fingers in your mouth. She says that you should wash your hands frequently and drink 8-to-10 glasses of water every day. Treat yourself to soothing baths and showers and open windows now and then to admit fresh, humid air. “I try to educate people around the world every day about the dangers of flu and the growing global water crisis,” said Kleyne “and the health dangers associated with dehydration due to excess evaporation of the earth’s water vapor.

To live a long, healthy life, supplement and replenish the moisture lost to evaporation caused by the flu with pure, fresh water. At the research center of Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®, the company Kleyne founded and still directs, Kleyne discovered and developed products to do just that. Nature’s Mist® Face of the Water® was created to replenish lost body water vapor. Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® supplements the eyes and eyelids, providing relief from the symptoms of flu eye and other ocular conditions.

Influenza Can Lead To Dry Eye Says Sharon Kleyne

Sharon Kleyne Encourages Proactive Eye Care Before Flu Season. Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® Soothes Dry Eye Symptoms.

Fall has arrived and with it comes influenza—the threat of the flu. Respected international researcher and educator Sharon Kleyne is well aware of the flu’s annual appearance and she warns that the eyes are open windows and doors for flu and cold viruses and bacteria. Taking care of one’s eyes, Kleyne believes, can and will help one to avoid illness. Kleyne knows that when you get the flu you are going to have to deal with fever and nausea, yet it is also important to take care of your eyes, too.

Kleyne, host of the nationally syndicated The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water, Global Climate Change and Your Health on VoiceAmerica sponsored by Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, teaches that the water in our eyes and skin is the first line of defense against the invasion of disease. That’s why doctors tell sick people to “drink plenty of water.” When a person becomes ill, the body, eyes and skin lose water and become dehydrated. Dehydration symptoms frequently begin at common disease entry points such as the eyes and mouth. Kleyne knows that common eye complaints at the onset of the flu and after, such as itching, burning, redness and watery eyes, are identical to the most common complaints accompanying dry eye disease.

Watery eyes, Kleyne explains, are a standard symptom of dry eye. They occur, in a dry eye patient, as a result of “reflex tearing” as the eyes’ attempt to compensate for the loss of water via evaporation in the basal tear film. It is especially important to keep the eyes’ protective tear film, which is naturally 99 percent water, well hydrated. It’s ironic that winter may be the most challenging time of year to maintain a healthy tear film because more time is spent indoors where the air is drier and contains more bacteria.

Kleyne, founder of Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®, also recommends, for convenient and all-natural relief of dry eye symptoms a soothing, all-natural, pH balanced fresh water mist, Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®. Containing Trade Secret tissue culture grade pure water and delivered to the eye as a patented micron-size mist from a personal, hand-held portable humidifier, Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® supplements the tear film’s diminished water content, alleviates tear film dehydration and relieves dry eye complaints.

Sharon Kleyne Fights Flu With Water

Water Advocate Sharon Kleyne Announces Water Program to Defeat Flu. Sharon Kleyne Shares Ways To Avoid Flu Or Get Over It Faster.

Water advocate Sharon Kleyne shares her ongoing commitment to educating the public about water and health on her globally syndicated The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water® radio show on Voice America and Apple iTunes. Recently, noting that we are in the midst of the annual flu season, Kleyne announced a program to help people avoid the flu or recover much more quickly from it.

Sharon Kleyne, the Founder of Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®, is internationally celebrated by scientists, researchers, physicians and universities for her research and discoveries of new water technology and promotion of a healthier, Water Life Science® lifestyle. She recommends that people visit the comprehensive health website of the Center for Disease Control (CDC). “It has everything you need to know about preventing and treating seasonal influenza,” said Kleyne (http://www.cdc.gov/flu/index/htm). “They stress the importance of hydration,” Kleyne continued, “and they urge the public to drink lots of water and avoid dehydration caused by evaporation of the body’s water vapor. Excessive evaporation can lead to death.”

In keeping with her philosophy that proactive water technology, research and health education are essential for improving global health, Sharon Kleyne has meticulously researched dehydration caused by evaporation, flu prevention and flu treatment. “Here is a recap of the CDC’s excellent advice,” she announced, “plus additional information on evaporation of the body’s water vapor based on extensive research at Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®.”

“Flu” is short for “influenza,” the beginning of an Italian phrase meaning “influence of the stars.” The Italians originally attributed the disease to astrological alignment of the stars. In fact, flu is a virus that can be spread by sneezing, touching contaminated surfaces and eating contaminated foods. Because the influenza virus constantly mutates, flu immunization shots must be changed every year and cannot cover every possible flu strain. Also, flu strains in animals that had been harmless to humans can mutate and suddenly start making us sick, as in swine flu and bird flu.

Flu can be mild to severe and could cause death if a mutant strain is virulent enough (as in the 1918 flu pandemic, estimated to have killed 100 million people worldwide). Flu is especially dangerous to those in high risk categories such as children, people with lung (COPD or asthma) or heart problems, or the elderly. Flu can lead to secondary infections such as pneumonia and sinus or ear infections.

Flu symptoms (not all may be present):

  • Fever

  • Cough

  • Sore throat

  • Nasal congestion

  • Muscle ache

  • Headache

  • Fatigue

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Diarrhea

Taking care of yourself

  • Stay home

  • Avoid close contact with others

  • DRINK PLENTY OF WATER to prevent dehydration (See “regarding water,” below).

  • Treat fever, cough or nausea with over-the-counter medications.

  • See a doctor if you are in a high risk category or your symptoms become worrisome.

The CDC cautions that “dehydration is very serious” and can cause death. They offer the following suggestions to prevent or reverse fluid loss.

  • Drink plenty of water.

  • Avoid drinks containing alcohol or caffeine.

  • Older adults or people with kidney problems should check with their doctor about how much water to drink.

  • It is OK to breast-feed if you are dehydrated or ill. It will not affect your baby.

Dehydration symptoms.

  • Reduced tear production

  • Dry mouth

  • Rapid pulse

  • Difficulty keeping food or fluids down

  • Diarrhea

  • Low energy

Treating a fever can also help reduce dehydration.

  • Again, drink plenty of water.

  • Damp compresses on forehead.

  • Warm bath

  • Fever-reducing medication

  • Room humidifier

Regarding water:

Bio-Logic Aqua Research recommends at least eight-to-ten glasses (eight ounces per glass) of pure fresh water per day. Drink twelve glasses if you are ill, have dehydration symptoms, following heavy exercise or if it’s very hot out. Sharon Kleyne also recommends that one drink glasses of water all at once rather than sipping them.
