Water Harvester Works In Arid Climate Using No Energy

Water Life Science® Creator Sharon Kleyne Applauds Water Harvester Technology Breakthrough. Inexpensive Pure Water for Arid Climates May Soon be Available Says New Project.

Nature’s Pharma®/Water Life Science® creator and educator, Sharon Kleyne wants you to check out a scientific paper, “Practical Water Production from Desert Air,” published in the journal Science Advances. Why is Kleyne so excited? Because of the discovery of a new water harvesting material by a research team at the University of California, Berkeley.

The material, a metal organic framework (MOF) was able to produce 7 ounces of water in a twenty-four trial in arid Arizona without using any energy! The paper’s co-author, Omar Yaghi, insists that “there is nothing like this. It operates,” Yaghi continues, “at ambient temperature with ambient sunlight, and with no additional energy input you can collect water in the desert. This laboratory-to-desert journey allowed us to really turn water harvesting from an interesting phenomenon into a science.”

MOFs are made of the metals zirconium or aluminum (the aluminum model is even cheaper to create and use and is being adapted for commercial purposes). They are solids but with a mostly hollow core. MOFs are crisscrossed with innumerable internal channels or holes, which gives them an immense surface area. For example, Kleyne points out, one sugar-cube-size piece of MOF contains the internal surface size of approximately six football fields (600 yards). Thanks to such surface area, MOFs effortlessly trap gases or liquids, which when heated, release fluids that are easily retrieved.

The test harvester is a box placed within another box. The box inside packs a 2-square-foot bed of MOF pallets. These pallets are open to the air to absorb moisture. The team’s harvester is essentially a box placed within another box. The outer box, a 2-foot cube, is made of transparent plastic. The top remains open at night, allowing moist air to flow in and make contact with the MOF. The material heats up during the night and releases stored water. Then the water condenses on the insides of the outer box, drips to the bottom and gets collected.

The team announced that a larger aluminum-based MOF will be tested later this summer in Death Valley National Park as commercial applications for this new technology continue to be developed.

Kleyne, host of the educational, nationally syndicated radio program, The Sharon Kleyne Hour Water Life Science®/Nature’sPharma®, The Power of Water® & Your Health on VoiceAmerica and World Talk Radio sponsored by Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, says that this research and inventive technology is exactly what the world needs to respond to its ever-increasing and threatening water crisis. Kleyne tirelessly calls for more water education and more financial support for water research before a bad global water situation becomes disastrous. “We have to learn how to live with Earth, which is a living organism,” says Kleyne. “Water is also a living organism and contains the secret of life itself.

Power Of Water® & Water Life Science® Offer Key To Dry Eye Solution®

Water Life Science® Creator Kleyne Shares Dry Eye Secrets. Disease Can be Fought with Water Life Science® Says Sharon Kleyne.

Sharon Kleyne, host of the internationally syndicated talk radio program, The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water®, Nature’s Pharma®/Water Life Science® & Your Health sponsored by Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® on VoiceAmerica and World Talk Radio, believes that “Water Life Science® must become the new awareness lifestyle for people all over the world. Just as Nature’s Years® EyeMist revolutionized dry eye care,” Kleyne claims, “better funded water research must be launched and sustained so that new water technology can be developed to find cures for the hundreds of diseases challenging humanity.”

For more than twenty years, Kleyne’s new water research and inventions of new water technology have earned the respect of educators, physicians, scientists and fellow researchers around the world. Kleyne, widely acknowledged as the world’s premiere expert on dry eye, body water evaporation, and evaporation of Earth’s atmosphere, now calls on her international peers and colleagues to create new educational programs that teach Water Life Science® and the Power of Water® in the way that people were once taught how to use toothbrushes with existing mouth-care products. “Today the toothbrush is used by everybody,” says Kleyne. “In the same spirit, education and research must encourage people to adopt Water Life Science® as the proactive, healthy lifestyle.”

But what is Water Life Science®? Water Life Science® unlocks nature’s pharma®, nature’s secrets. “For instance, eyes are the barometer of the body,” Kleyne says. “Eyes emit energy and connect with the energy of the world. Imagine discovering that emotions might be triggered by the evaporation process that begins the moment of birth and continues through life until death.” Kleyne teaches that over-evaporation also triggers illness and hundreds of diseases, including dry eye and blindness.

“The eyes and the body need to be regularly supplemented and replenished with Trade Secret, preservative-free, pure water,” says Kleyne. At Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®, the research center Kleyne founded and serves as research director, Water Life Science® products are being developed to follow its bag-on-valve new technology and its dry eye solution®, Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®.

Dry eye disease, Kleyne reminds us, will challenge 30 million Americans this year. “This is nothing less than an epidemic,” Kleyne insists. Dr eye disease occurs when the eye’s tear film, which is naturally 99 percent water, over-evaporates. Even a loss of just two percent of tear film water will trigger dry eye disease. Over-evaporation occurs as a result of pollution, allergies, hormonal changes, wind, smoke, dust, sun glare and exposure to artificial environments (forced air heating and air conditioning).

Dry eye disease symptoms include headaches, red eyes, burning eyes, swollen eyes, blurred vision, itching eyes, anxiety and anger. Dry eye impedes restful sleep, sparks social conflicts and leads to diminished performance in the workplace. “Dry eye isn’t just about the eye,” says Kleyne. “Dry eye impacts all areas of the sufferer’s life.”

Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, Kleyne says, is applied to the tear film in a patented micron-size mist from a portable, personal hand-held humidifier. The product is designed to achieve maximum penetration of the tear film, replenishing the evaporated eye water vapor. Once the tear film has been supplemented with the pure water-only Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, artificial tears, chemically-based eye drops, or saline solution can be applied to seal in the replenished moisture. Kleyne notes that a fun, short animated film about the dry eye solution® Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® can be seen at

“Just as Water Life Science® has unlocked many of the secrets of dry eye disease,” Kleyne concludes, “this healthy new lifestyle is poised to explore and open up many secrets that will lead to important and much needed cures.”

Link Between LASIK Surgery & Dry Eye Disease Examined

Sharon Kleyne’s Lasik & Dry Eye Research Makes Science Community Sit Up and Take Notice. Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® Supplements Eyes Before & After LASIK Surgery.

It is a wonderful development that many vision-impaired people around the world have an option towards better sight that doesn’t include glasses or contact lenses. Of course, we’re talking here about LASIK surgery (laser-assisted in-situ keratomileusis).

According to Sharon Kleyne, host of the internationally syndicated talk radio program, The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water®, Nature’s Pharma®/Water Life Science® & Your Health sponsored by Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® on VoiceAmerica and World Talk Radio, LASIK surgery has become a popular go-to procedure for people who want to improve their vision and spend less time wearing glasses and contacts. While water researcher Kleyne approves of the procedure, she has studied the effects of dry eye during the post-procedure period and wants to share her important discoveries.

Kleyne describes how LASIK surgery is a popular refractive procedure offering improved eyesight to millions of vision-challenged people. Patient satisfaction for LASIK surgery is between a whopping 92-98 percent, which is positive testimony to the success of the procedure. It’s a little known fact that even the risk of infection is greater from wearing contact lenses than from complications during a LASIK procedure. Kleyne’s main interest, though, is on what happens after a LASIK procedure. Kleyne found that the incidence of post-LASIK dry eye in the six months following surgery is a staggering 36%!

Untreated dry eye symptoms, caused by a loss of natural water in the eye’s protective tear film (the tear film is naturally 99% water) can compromise or diminish LASIK surgery outcomes. In a small percentage of patients, post-LASIK dry eye is so severe it becomes permanent and untreatable, condemning patients to lives of chronic pain, eyesight impairment, other ocular diseases and even blindness.

Kleyne, the founder and research director of Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®, also has positive news to share. Kleyne’s research and new water technologies have earned international recognition, and she is recognized as the global expert on dehydration of the eyes and skin due to excessive evaporation of the body’s water vapor. Kleyne contends that there are several pre-operative and post-operative precautions that can prevent or reduce the risk and severity of LASIK dry eye and so dramatically improve the LASIK recovery process and success rate.

The pre-operative exam for a LASIK procedure, Kleyne says, should include evaluation for slight, chronic and/or severe dry eye.  If dry eye is present, the LASIK procedure should be delayed until the patient is free of all dry eye symptoms. Kleyne also points out that regardless of whether or not dry eye is diagnosed, your eyes need to be supplemented several times a day with tissue culture grade water. Using a product like Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® on a daily basis improves the natural tear film water and alleviates dry eye symptoms.

Kleyne would also have you drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day, reduce stress and get sufficient sleep and exercise. Keep weight under control (a lean person’s body is about 70% water while an obese person’s body can be as low as 40% water). Avoid prolonged or repeated exposure to high-risk dry eye conditions (wind, sand storms, air pollution, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, forced-air heating and cooling, insulated walls and windows, low humidity, stagnant air, smoke, chemical fumes, extended computer and television use, eye allergies, eye strain).

Refractive eye surgeons also recommend that patients not wear soft contact lenses 15 to 21 days prior to surgery. Use of hard contact lenses should be discontinued six weeks prior to surgery. For hard contact lenses, add an additional six weeks for every three years you have worn lenses. Kleyne says that everyone who goes through a LASIK procedure will realize a healthy outcome if they follow these precautions and use Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®.
